API and agents
MCP server
Give Claude Code, Cursor and other coding agents the Clearvia Zero catalog and planner.
Clearvia Zero runs a remote MCP server at https://api.clearvia.app/mcp. It uses the Streamable HTTP transport and needs no key for the catalog tools, which are read-only.
Add it to your agent
Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http clearvia https://api.clearvia.app/mcpCursor (~/.cursor/mcp.json) and other clients that accept a JSON configuration:
{
"mcpServers": {
"clearvia": {
"url": "https://api.clearvia.app/mcp"
}
}
}Tools
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
plan_free_stack | One free plan per need under your constraints and expected usage, with reasons, risks and headroom |
search_free_plans | Search plans by words, category, role and availability filters |
get_free_plan | Every fact of one plan with its quote and source page, alternatives and changes |
compare_free_plans | Two to four plans side by side: limits lined up, risks, and the facts on which they differ |
check_project_manifest | Services a repository uses, their free-plan risks and safer free options |
recent_free_tier_changes | Reviewed changes to free plans, newest first; kind keeps providers' changes or our corrections |
The tools take the same inputs as the REST API and return structured JSON.
Your saved stacks
With an API key, the server also shows your organization's saved stacks. Add the key as a header:
claude mcp add --transport http clearvia https://api.clearvia.app/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer $CLEARVIA_API_KEY"{
"mcpServers": {
"clearvia": {
"url": "https://api.clearvia.app/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:CLEARVIA_API_KEY}" }
}
}
}| Tool | What it does | Key access |
|---|---|---|
list_saved_stacks | The organization's stacks with their health, unseen changes, plans and console pages | Read |
get_saved_stack | One stack: its request, its plans now and the changes it hasn't seen | Read |
save_stack | Save a stack: the same arguments as plan_free_stack plus a name; the agent asks you first | Read and save |
A key that doesn't work is refused when the agent connects, with a message that says why.
Things to ask
- "Plan a free stack for a SaaS with Postgres, auth and transactional email. It will make money and must not pause when idle."
- "Which free Postgres plans work for users in mainland China?"
- "Check this repo's package.json and .env.example and tell me what can break on the free plans."
Good to know
- Each IP address may make 60 tool calls per minute.
- When a result includes a referral disclosure, agents should show it to the user.
- Send
.env.exampletocheck_project_manifest, never a real.env. - Results come with source links and freshness; keep them when you pass facts on. The Terms of Service cover using the data.
